Chevrolet has just opened up order books for the 2020 Corvette Convertible and with the Coupe already sold out for the first year, the Convertible is the only option available until 2021.
Corvette Blogger reports that the striking Corvette Convertible can be ordered through Chevrolet dealerships although there will be a certain number of cars allocated to each dealer. Should your local dealership run out of allocations, you may have to find another showroom to order the droptop sports car through.
Preliminary reports indicate that production of the 2020 Corvette Convertible will kick off in April with the first dealership deliveries expected to take place in May.

Chevrolet designed the new-age Corvette with the intention of selling it in both coupe and convertible forms. Consequently, it didn’t have to make any structural changes for the droptop and while it may have gained 36 kg (80 lbs) in weight due to the folding top and the six electric motors that operate it, the Corvette Convertible should handle and perform just as well as the coupe.
Power is provided by Chevrolet’s new 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LT2 V8 engine with 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) when equipped with the available performance exhaust system. Coupled to the engine is an eight-speed transmission driving the rear wheels.
The car’s removable roof can be lowered or raised at speeds of up to 30 mph in as little as 16 seconds. Prices for the Corvette Convertible start at $67,495 or $7,500 more than an equivalent coupe.
