The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur is one of the marque’s finest new vehicles released in recent memory and according to the British car manufacturer, it has the most complex interior it has ever designed.
Each Flying Spur to roll out of the company’s British factory features no less than 350 unique leather pieces that adorn 60 parts, making up the vast majority of the luxury sedan’s interior surfaces. Tying all of this leather together is more than three kilometers (1.86-miles) of thread.

Bentley doesn’t let just anyone from its production team assemble the interior of a Flying Spur. In fact, a minimum of five months training under Bentley’s Master Trainers is required “to learn the vast array of techniques required to craft Bentley’s interiors to the highest of standards.”
The leather used in the Flying Spur is sustainably sourced from Northern European bulls as by-products of the meat industry. Each interior passes through the hands of 141 Bentley craftspeople before being signed off. Customers have no less than 14 interior hide colors to choose from.
The Flying Spur’s steering wheel is particularly special. It features five meters of thread that is passed through 352 sew holes to create 168 distinctive cross stitches. It takes a Bentley craftsperson three and a half hours to stitch a single Flying Spur steering wheel. Similarly, the seats of the car require no less than 12 hours to assemble by hand and include 5,103 individual stitches.
Powering the Bentley Flying Spur is a twin-turbocharged W12 engine that’s good for 626 hp and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. This engine is coupled to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
