Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced its lineup for CES 2020 and the main exhibit will be the Airflow Vision concept.
While not explicitly identified as a Chrysler, the Airflow Vision recycles the name of a Chrysler full-size car produced from 1934 to 1937. FCA says the Airflow Vision is a “sculptural design concept that envisions the next generation of premium transportation and UX by considering how the driver and passengers could interact with advanced technologies.”
The concept is is created for customers with “an on-the-go lifestyle and a desire for a first-class travel experience” and is said to pack sophisticated tech within a serene environment.

The interior of the Airflow Vision obviously matters more than the exterior as FCA says it designed the cabin to offer “a captivating experience using multi-layered, high-contrast graphics and thoughtful details that provide a clean, sophisticated appearance.” UX plays a prominent role inside, with the interior being built on the principles of “depth, hierarchy, consistency and legibility.”
The cabin offers multiple display screens: two on the center console, one behind the steering wheel, another on the passenger-side dashboard, and two more for the rear passengers.
Information on the screens can be shared with all passengers by swiping, thus allowing each occupant to participate in the experience. Whether driving or acting as a co-pilot, customization and personalization are key. The interior the same size as the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV and features the same flat-load floor.
Despite that, it only has four lounge-like seats offering “maximum legroom, shoulder space and personal storage for each passenger.” Materials used inside include premium suede and leathers, with the functional and ambient lighting also contributing to a first-class ambience.
As for the exterior, the Airflow Vision adopts an aggressive yet elegant shape featuring a dynamic profile, long wheelbase, sleek lines and wide stance. In this design exercise, the muscular body becomes one with the wheels, which hint at the mechanical elements of an electric motor.
The bronze accents also suggest the concept packs a pure-electric powertrain. We’re also told that the Airflow Vision features LED crystal lighting, an Arctic White body color and Celestial Blue underbody.
FCA’s participation at CES 2020 will also include the North American debut of the Fiat Concept Centoventi, introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Previewing the next-generation Panda, the small EV packs a modular battery architecture enabling ranges from 60 miles to 300 miles.
The automaker will also announce that electrified Jeep models will wear the ‘4xe’ badge from now on, with all Jeep vehicles to offer electrification options by 2022. The first models to get the 4xe badge are the plug-in hybrid Wrangler, Renegade and Compass – all debuting this year.
