The 2021 GMC Yukon’s launch earlier this week may have been overshadowed by the arrival of the Genesis GV80, but the new GMC does have a unique appeal of its own. This video from Redline Reviews highlights some of the key features of the new Yukon.
Both the new GMC Yukon and Yukon XL models are longer than the models they replace. Most notably, the standard Yukon is 6.1-inches (155 mm) longer and receives a 4.9-inch (124 mm) longer wheelbase. This results in an additional 10.1-inches (257 mm) of legroom for third-row passengers and adds 28.2 cubic feet (798 liters) of additional cargo space bringing the total figure up to 122.9 cubic feet (3,480 liters).
Compared to the outgoing Yukon XL, the new model gains 0.9-inches (23 mm) while its wheelbase has been extended by 4.1-inches (104 mm).

The new GMC Yukon Denali’s dashboard
Versus the dashboard of the Yukon AT4
Much of this first look at the full-size SUV is focused on the high-end Yukon Denali trim which interestingly, has a unique interior design over lesser models. Most notably, GMC has given the Denali a new dashboard and shifted the free-standing infotainment system found on standard models, instead incorporating it into the dashboard itself.
Another interesting feature of the Denali, AT4, and SLT models is an optional sliding center console that slides back up to 10-inches (254 mm), opening up some added storage space for front-row passengers while also making the console accessible to those sitting in the second-row.
Standard 2021 GMC Yukon models feature a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. Those who opt for the Yukon Denali will enjoy a 6.2-liter V8 as standard with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. There’s also a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque available.
