A mind-bending Pontiac Fiero modified to look like a 996-generation Porsche 911 is currently for sale on Craigslist in New York.

The 1998 Fiero is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 engine that was recently rebuilt, according to the listing. A host of new parts are also said to have been fitted, including a new clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and battery. The brake system has also been rebuilt. However, it’s not the mechanical aspects of the car that make it special. It’s the exterior.

The owner of the sports car somehow grafted on the face of a 911 including headlights (likely aftermarket specials) just like the 996. There are also ‘GT2 RS’ stickers running along both of the doors as well as a set of gold wheels. To the uninitiated, we’re sure the front end is convincing enough to fool some into thinking this is a real Porsche, perhaps an early Boxster or Cayman model. It’s unclear if the exterior modifications were done in a garage or at a shop but the work is quite impressive.

Once you check out the rear or swing open a door, however, it becomes obvious that this isn’t a Porsche as no changes have been made over any regular 1988 Fiero like this one.

According to the listing, the car has 156,000 miles (251,057 km) on the odometer and a rebuilt title. It has an asking price of $4,800. Is it worth that much? Probably not but we wouldn’t be surprised if someone is willing to pay that much.
