Kia has started accepting orders for the new XCeed and Ceed Sportswagon plug-in hybrids in Europe, with UK deliveries to commence in April.
The PHEV variants of the XCeed and Ceed Sportswagon share the same powertrain that combines the 1.6-liter four-pot with an electric motor and an 8.9 kWh battery. The total output is 141 PS (139 hp / 104 kW) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque, and they target a zero-emission range of 60 km (37 miles) for the Ceed and 58 km (36 miles) for the XCeed.
Prices and trims
Offered in the ‘3’ and ‘First Edition’ trim levels, the XCeed PHEV starts at £30,695 ($39,897/€35,843) and gets standard 16-inch alloy wheels, 10.25-inch TFT LCD widescreen, sat-nav, DAB radio, smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and an assortment of safety gear.

The better equipped First Edition adds 18-inch wheels, black leather trim, automatic parallel and perpendicular parking system, 12.3-inch TFT supervision cluster display, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, aluminum pedals, smart powered tailgate and so on. This version also brings Blind Spot Warning, Lane Following Assist and Intelligent Speed Limit Information Function, while the Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist.
Priced at £29,995 ($38,987/€35,025), the Ceed Sportswagon PHEV comes in the ‘3’ specification and sits at the top of the estate range. Features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, closed grille, LED lights, cloth and leather trim, satin chrome details, dual-zone A/C, cruise control and speed limiter, 10.25-inch infotainment system, sat-nav, reversing camera, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and others are standard. Safety equipment includes Forward Collision Assist with city and pedestrian detection, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Hill-Start Assist Control and High-Beam Assist.
