Kia has premiered its commercial for this year’s Super Bowl to promote the new 2021 Kia Seltos.
The commercial stars rookie running back Josh Jacobs and shows the superstar footballer returning to the streets of his hometown in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the clip, Jacobs provides his younger self with some poignant advice and how important it is to be “tougher than the world around you.”
For Jacobs, these are strong words as he grew up homeless and hustled his way through to becoming a first-round draft pick in the NFL. It’s a story of hope and never giving up and it’s not until the final few moments that you’d actually know it’s a commercial for the Kia Seltos.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that the 2021 Kia Seltos will start at $21,999 with all-wheel drive in the United States. Entry-level models feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 146 hp and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque coupled to a CVT. Higher-end models feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that hustles out 175 hp and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm). Models equipped with this engine also get a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The reception to the Seltos has been very good among journalists who’ve driven it. In the next couple of weeks, Carscoops will review the Seltos both in the United States and Australia to find out for ourselves if it’s worthy of the hype.
