Ex-Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg recently had the opportunity to spec out his dream Aston Martin Valkyrie and has revealed a handful of previously-unknown details about the forthcoming hypercar.

Rosberg himself doesn’t have a Valkyrie on order but was still granted the opportunity to design his perfect one at one of the world’s largest Aston Martin dealerships.

During the latter part of the clip below, Rosberg sits down to check out the Valkyrie’s configurator. While there, he states that the regular, road-legal Valkyrie will be capable of lap times 95 per cent as fast as a current Formula 1 car. Should a customer opt for the available Track Performance Pack, the Valkyrie’s pace moves to 97 per cent of the lap times of an F1 car. As if that wasn’t enough, the track-only Valkyrie variant will be 5 per cent faster than an F1 car when running on slick tires.

Those lucky enough to have ordered a Valkyrie have a near-infinite number of possibilities when it comes to creating their dream rides. One Valkyrie owner will even have moon dust sprinkled into the paint of his car.

In the final 90-seconds of the video, the F1 driver says that 25 per cent of Valkyrie owners have ordered second engines for 150,000 pounds ($195,000) each just in case they ever need an engine replacement. What’s more, a handful have actually ordered two extra engines with the intent of using one as a coffee table. Madness.

The engine powering the Valkyrie is, of course, a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 from Cosworth that revs to 11,200 rpm and delivers 1,000 hp and 545 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is an electric motor from Rimac and Integral Powertrain that adds 160 hp and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque.
