Kia will officially uncover an SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2020 that takes place between February 5 and 12 in New Delhi.

Previewing a production model destined for the local market, the study sports modern styling, with highlights including the company’s famous tiger nose grille at the front, sleek LED headlamps and large side air intakes.

The muscular hood, tiny mirrors, bulky fenders, unique rear lighting signature, pop-out door handles, generous ground clearance and oversized wheels contribute to the athletic look. Nonetheless, expect the production variant to be significantly toned down in all major aspects once Kia decides to completely drop the veils – which will likely happen this summer.

The Korean automaker was already spotted testing the SUV, which is codenamed the QYi. It’s tipped to be based on the same architecture as the Hyundai Venue, which is 4,036 mm (158.9 in) long, 1,770 mm (69.7 in) wide and 1,605 mm (63.2 in) tall in India. Reports suggest it will be under 4 meters (157.5 in) long in the Asian country and could have a slightly shorter wheelbase compared to its cousin, which measures 2,500 mm (98.4 in) between the two axles in India, and 2,520 mm (99.2) in international markets.

Inside, it should partially mirror the design of the Seltos and Venue and will get features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, automatic air conditioning, wireless charging pad, sun roof, heated and ventilated seats, and more.

The engine lineup will probably be shared with the Venue, with the 1.0-liter turbo and 1.2-liter naturally aspirated units believed to be part of the offering, possibly with a few minor updates. The 1.5-liter diesel from the Seltos is tipped to join the range as well. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
