For the first time in 23 years, Porsche has produced a commercial for the Super Bowl and while the video fittingly focuses on the new all-electric Taycan, that’s not the highlight for us.
As reported by Motor1, the commercial that was filmed at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, shows at the 44-second mark a blue Porsche 911 in the background and it very much looks like the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3.

The German car manufacturer has been testing the 992-generation GT3 for quite some time but has kept the car under thick camouflage. The mystery 911 model pictured is clearly a 992-generation model – as evidenced by the taillights – and sports a large fixed rear wing different than any 911 model currently on sale. We can see the wing includes sharp black endplates and sits atop of what appears to be a small ducktail spoiler, just as we’ve seen on recent 992 GT3 prototypes.
A brief glimpse of the car’s front half is also included in the commercial as are a set of wheels with a different spoke design than the 991-generation GT3 and GT2 models. A lack of side air intakes on the rear fenders also points towards this being the new GT3 rather than the more potent GT3 RS.
We know that powering the new Porsche 911 GT3 will be a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that could pump out upwards of 520 hp. It’s believed that Porsche will make the car available with a six-speed manual transmission and a PDK.
