A group of citizens in New York came to the rescue of a woman over the weekend who was trapped under a Mercedes-Benz GLE.

The NY Post reports that the woman was run over on the Lower East Side and trapped under the black Mercedes-Benz at the intersection of Delancey and Norfolk Streets.

Footage shared on Twitter shows a number of people nearby rushing to the assistance of the woman. In mere seconds, there are at least a dozen people who spring into action and are able to tilt the Mercedes on to its right side before quickly freeing the woman from underneath.

“As I approached there were big crowds forming all around the intersection,” Coldy Droscher who posted the video and photo on Twitter told NY Post. “All of a sudden everyone ran to lift the car. It all happened so fast.”

An FDNY spokesman said the agency received a trauma call at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday and transported the woman to Bellevue Hospital. The condition of the woman remains unclear. However, it is reported that the woman was conscious the entire time she was under the Mercedes-Benz and that she was even on her phone while trapped. An image posted after the Mercedes was lifted off her also shows her lying on her back with her phone as FDNY personnel attended to her.
