In 2019, Porsche delivered 280,800 vehicles worldwide recording a ten percent improvement compared to the previous year with solid sales across all major markets.
Their best-selling model remains the Macan SUV, which accounted for more than a third of the overall sales. All told, 99,944 units of the premium compact SUV were shipped across the globe in 2019, a 16 percent increase over 2018. The larger Cayenne SUV was chosen by 92,055 people worldwide, up 29 percent year-on-year. Their high-riding vehicle portfolio is completed by the Cayenne Coupe, which debuted last spring.

“We are delighted about this great result, which shows the worldwide customer excitement for our sports cars and we are also proud that we have further strengthened the appeal of our brand and the customer experience with new approaches”, commented member of the board for sales and marketing, Detlev von Platen. “We are optimistic that we can maintain the high levels of demand in 2020 – also thanks to a host of new models and full order books for the Taycan.”
Out of the 280,800 new cars sold in 2019, 116,458 went to the Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle East regions, while 86,762 of them ended up in China, up 8 percent over the previous year. In the United States, Porsche sold 61,568 recording an 8 percent increase marking a decade of consecutive growth, while 88,975 cars were delivered in Europe, up 15 percent. The biggest market in the Old Continent was Germany, where sales jumped by 15 percent, from 27,541 to 31,618.
U.S. Sales Model Breakdown:
According to CarSalesBase, 20 years ago, three years before the first-gen Cayenne entered production, Europe accounted for 20,017 Porsches, while another 20,875 were shipped to the States.
