The driver of a Porsche 911 GT2 RS has come under fire for foolishly drifting the track-focused sports car on public roads.
Instagram user Miminogarage decided to celebrate the New Year by taking to the streets of what appears to be Georgia in his 991-generation 911 GT2 RS, a car that’s known to be quite sensitive to drive on the limit. Perhaps eager to show off his driving skills, the man strapped an action camera to his head to provide a POV perspective of his antics. The camera ended up catching the moment he almost crashed.

As the revhead drives through the city streets, he continually kicks out of the tail of the German sports car, putting its 690 hp to the test. However, when coming around a left-hand bend onto what appears to be a major highway, he gets a little too zealous with the throttle and almost oversteers into a wall. If it wasn’t for a bit of luck, the man could have caused a serious amount of damage to his car.
Despite the near-miss and the obvious stupidity of his actions, the man defended his actions on Instagram.
“Don’t say that it’s dangerous, I know it. No traffic, no people around, 1-st of Jan, 9:00 am morning, my fail and my save at the end. Lucky me today. Damn, this car is very sensitive,” he wrote.
