The Seat Ateca range has been expanded to include the new Black Edition. On sale in the United Kingdom, it’s based on the FR Sport grade and will cost you between £28,845 and £35,180 ($37,492-$45,727 / €33,683-€41,080) on-the-road.

The compact SUV with a sportier touch can be ordered in the Crystal Black, Nevada White and Rhodium Grey paint finishes, as well as the Velvet Red pictured below. Enhancements on the outside include the glossy black side mirror casings, window and grille surrounds and roof rails, as well as the black trim and 19-inch machined gloss black alloy wheels.

Inside, the Ateca FR Black Edition boasts front sports seats with electric adjustment on the driver’s side and black leather upholstery. All versions pack the digital instrument cluster with a 10-inch display, smartphone integration and the Seat Winter Pack. The latter adds heated washers on vehicles equipped with the full LED headlights, wash water level indicator and heated front seats. Joining the range of standard gear are the electronic differential lock, traction control, electronic stability control and others.

Power comes from an assortment of petrol and diesel engines. The lineup starts with the 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) 1.5 TSI, paired to a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2.0 TSI with the 7-speed DSG and four-wheel drive is also included, making 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW), alongside the 2.0 TDI with six-speed manual and 7-speed auto, rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW). CO2 emissions vary between 123 and 156 g/km and the fuel consumption between 32.5 and 49.5 mpg UK (8.7-5.7 l/100 km / 27.1-41.22 mpg US).
