When Renault came out with the Dacia Logan back in 2004, it was designed to be cheap and practical – and not much else. However, recent trends suggest that the age of the four-door sedan might be coming to an end.
Since then, the automaker also came out with the Sandero, which is basically a 5-door hatchback Logan. However, after seeing this render by Kolesa, we’ve started to think that the two models should just morph into a fastback and call it a day.
Following its inception, the Logan spawned multiple body styles, including a station wagon and even a pick-up, and based on where you live, you either know the car as a Renault or a Dacia, depending on the positioning of the French brand in said market.

This particular render pertains to the Russian market, where the model is sold as a Renault. Its body style should work pretty much anywhere in the world precisely because it offers the best of both worlds, meaning a larger trunk than you do in a hatchback, with a broader opening than you get with a sedan.
Also, despite this digital drawing being based on the current-gen Renault Logan, we’re tempted to say that it looks fine as this is a budget offering after all and no one has great expectations. OK, it won’t dazzle you with its looks, but it won’d offend you either – and, in this segment, that’s the point.
So how would this work? Well, for example, the Sandero is clearly the more popular nameplate of the two in Western Europe, so over there, they could just call the Fastback a Sandero, whereas in other markets such as certain Eastern European countries, the Logan moniker would carry more weight.
