If you’re in the market for a high-performance European sports car that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, this 2011 BMW M3 Competition Package on Bring A Trailer could be your perfect ride.

The E92-generation M3 is hugely desirable because it features a stunning 4.0-liter V8 engine that’s much more characterful than its twin-turbocharged six-cylinder successor.

This particular example has been adorned with an ESS Tuning VT2-625 supercharger kit thanks to Active Autowerke in Miami, Florida. Supplementary modifications include an ESS intake manifold with velocity stacks, WPC treated rod bearings, ARP rod hardware, a VFE oil cooler, upgraded Bosch fuel injectors, a high heat powder coated injector cover, ESS Tuning ECU tune, and more.

Dyno tests have shown the car to churn out 577 hp and 364 lb-ft (493 Nm) of torque at the rear wheels. Sending power to the ground is a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

A plethora of other modifications have been made. For example, there are aftermarket 20-inch wheels, BC Racing coilovers, upgraded control arms, Ground Control adjustable sway bar end links, and Turner Motorsports polyurethane subframe and differential mounts. There are also upgraded brake pads and discs. Also found across the exterior of the car are many (tasteful for some, undesirable for others) new parts like LED taillights and headlights and carbon fiber kidney grilles.

Inside, the seller left no stone unturned and fitted new Recaro Sportser CS seats, a BMW Performance steering wheel, carbon fiber shift knob, and handbrake, as well as an AL Priority Laser Jammer and Uniden R3 radar detector. The car has 86,000 miles (138,403 km) on the clock and at the time of writing, had attracted a highest bid of $17,000 with a few hours left in the auction.
