The long-awaited 2020 Genesis GV80 is set to premiere in just a matter of minutes, at 8:30 P.M. EST to be precise, and you can watch the reveal in the livestream below.
Quite often, car manufacturers do a good job of keeping their new vehicles under wraps before they are unveiled but that hasn’t been the case with the GV80. In fact, images of the first-ever SUV from Genesis have been circling for quite some time so we already know what it’ll look like, both inside and out.

A rear-wheel drive architecture will underpin the GV80 and the SUV will hit the market with styling first previewed by the GV80 Concept from 2017 including split headlights and taillights as well as a triangular front grille. It certainly appears quite upmarket and the styling alone might be enough to convince people to buy it over some of its European rivals.
Much of the GV80’s interior will be bespoke and distinct from any other current Genesis models. Taking pride of place on the dashboard will be a widescreen infotainment system. Other highlights of the interior will include a two-spoke steering wheel, plush power-adjustable seats, a raised center console with a hidden storage compartment underneath, and a pumping audio system. Examples of the GV80 recently spotted have also revealed that a number of interior themes will be available, including one combining black and brown leather and another with cream-colored surfaces.
It’s understood that the SUV will initially be sold with a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo-diesel producing 274 hp and 434 lb-ft (589 Nm) of torque for the South Korean market. Two petrol engines will be added to the range shortly after, both of which are tipped to be offered in North America. These include a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque as well as a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 with 375 hp and 390 lb-ft (530 Nm).
