The 2020 Renault Megane R.S. TCR racer has just been unveiled in Australia, where it will be making its on-track debut during pre-season testing later this week.
In designing the new race car, Renault Sport GRM took some visual inspiration from the road-going Megane R.S. Trophy-R, developing a striking yellow livery with black accents and Renault’s diamond graphics.

In Australia, the Megane R.S. TCR will compete in the local TCR Australia racing championship thanks to the Garry Rogers Motorsport team. It will be driven by experienced racer James Moffat, who just a few months ago set a front-wheel drive production vehicle record in the Trophy-R around Australia’s The Bend Motorsport Park.
“We learnt a lot from our first campaign with Renault 2019 and during the off-season we have worked in collaboration with Vukovic to find every possible improvement to the car, from durability to performance,” director of Garry Rogers Motorsport, Barry Rogers said. “CR has really brought a new level of excitement back into our workshop, and our involvements with Renault and the level of interest from Renault owners and fans in 2019 has really inspired us to push our engineering efforts even further in 2020 as we chase Renault’s first ever TCR race win in Australia.”
TCR Australia was only established last year and is one of dozens of TCR championships taking place around the world. Last year, competing cars included the VW Golf GTI TCR, Audi RS 3 LMS TCR, Subaru WRX STI TCR, Holden Astra TCR, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR, Hyundai i30 N TCR, Honda Civic Type R TCR, Cupra Leon TCR, Peugeot 308 TCR, and of course, the Renault Megane R.S. TCR.
