The Aston Martin DB11 V8 will celebrate its third anniversary this year and the company is aiming to keep things fresh by offering a new Shadow Edition.

Boasting “dark and brooding” styling, the Shadow Edition features a handful of unique accents including gloss black bonnet blades, black chrome badges and 20-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish.

If that isn’t distinctive enough, customers can order a package which adds additional gloss black accents to the upper glasshouse. Aston Martin says this “comprehensively” matches the Shadow Edition theme.

Interior updates are more modest as buyers will find a sport steering wheel wrapped in Obsidian Black leather and Pure Black Alcantara upholstery. Elsewhere, there are black anodized Shadow Edition sill plates.

While the changes are pretty minor, Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, said “We have carefully selected the Shadow Edition design elements to subtly yet noticeably alter the DB11’s appearance – moving it further towards a more assertive and purposeful GT style.”

Like the standard model, the Shadow Edition has a Mercedes-AMG sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 513 lb-ft (695 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via limited-slip differential. This setup enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.0 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h).

Production will be limited to 300 units and the 2021 DB11 V8 Shadow Edition will be available in Coupe and Volante body styles. The model is currently available to order and U.S. pricing starts at $222,600. Further north, Canadians will have to pay $256,900.
