U.S. pricing for the 2021 Genesis GV80 has yet to be announced but Car and Driver believes range-topping models could cost roughly $65,000.
The exciting new SUV, positioned as a more luxurious alternative to the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade, could start around $50,000 for the rear-wheel drive model outfitted with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The aforementioned $65,000 price tag would be for a fully-loaded example with all-wheel drive and the available V6.

For comparison, Mercedes’ four-cylinder 255 HP GLE 350 starts from $54,250, with the 362 HP V6 GLE 450 4MATIC kicking off at $61,750 and its AMG GLE 43 sibling with a 385 HP V6, at $68,150, though these prices can easily go north once you starting ticking the option boxes. Without knowing precise MSRPs and equipment levels, it’s hard to tell at this point if the GV80 will have a pricing edge over its German rivals.
The Genesis GV80’s base turbocharged four-cylinder is a 2.5-liter unit that produces around 300 hp while the 3.5-liter V6 is a twin-turbo unit that delivers 375 hp, slightly more than the 365 hp offered up by Hyundai and Kia’s current 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6. All models feature an eight-speed automatic transmission while all-wheel drive is an option.
While certain specifics about U.S.-spec models remain under wraps, we know the GV80 landing locally will have most of the same features as those sold elsewhere around the world. For example, the cabin comes complete with a 14.5-inch infotainment system with handwriting recognition technology and augmented reality navigation. There are also a host of safety features including Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.
Genesis should announce pricing shortly before sales of the 2021 GV80 kick off this summer.
