The Jaguar F-Type has long been one of the most beautiful cars on the market and Rory Reid over at Auto Trader recently had the opportunity to test out the facelifted model.
The British journalist, who once hosted Top Gear alongside Chris Harris and Matt LeBlanc, jumped behind the wheel of a bright yellow F-Type R model which sits at the top of the sports car family. It’s a very impressive piece of kit as you could probably guess.
Powering the 2021 F-Type R is the British car manufacturer’s familiar supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine now pumping out 567 hp to all four wheels courtesy of an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. In a straight-line, the coupe can rocket to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds and tops out at 186 mph (300 km/h).

Reid says that thanks to alterations to the F-Type’s suspension system that make it softer at the front and stiffer at the rear, it has more predictable and progressive oversteer at the limit. While there is a little bit of body roll through the corners, it’s important to remember that the F-Type is a GT car and not an out-and-out hardcore sports car or supercar.
Visually, the facelifted F-Type is easy to spot from its predecessor thanks to the slim new headlights which, to be honest, we’re not that fond of. Jaguar has also tweaked the front and rear bumpers of the car and designed a host of new wheel options.
The 2021 Jaguar F-Type was recently presented in North American guise at the Chicago Auto Show.
