BMW and Alcantara have joined forces to create a luxurious X5 known as the Timeless Edition.
Designed to play tribute to the original X model, the Timeless Edition features a Mineral White exterior with aluminum side steps and the xOffroad package.
The latter adds an air suspension, an M Sport Differential and four off-road focused driving modes called xSand, xRocks, xGravel and xSnow. When one of these modes is selected, the crossover’s ground clearance, all-wheel drive system, stability control system and throttle are automatically adjusted to deal with the situation at hand.

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the interior has been “completely customized” by Alcantara. Unsurprisingly, Alcantara upholstery covers virtually every surface including the seats, doors and arm rests. Other highlights include an Alcantara travel bag and a front passenger headrest which reads “Powered by Alcantara” and “Timeless Edition 1/50.”
Production will be limited to 50 units and the X5 Timeless Edition will be available exclusively in Italy. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing or performance specifications.
Besides the Timeless Edition, BMW Italia announced two other special editions. The first is the X2 Blue Shadow S Edition which features an M Sport exterior, a Mineral Gray paint job and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The model also has blue accents and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 189 hp (141 kW / 192 PS). This enables the front-wheel drive crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 141 mph (227 km/h).
The X4 Blue Shadow Edition is similar, but it features a Glacier Silver exterior, all-wheel drive and a diesel engine with 187 hp (140 kW / 190 PS).
