GM unveiled the much-awaited mid-engine Corvette Stingray last year in July and since then, the new Vette became one of the most talked-about cars on the Internet.
Visually, since the C8’s engine is no longer at the front, the long hood was ditched and the end result was something that looked more like a supercar rather than a muscle car/sports car. However, images taken recently at the Bowling Green Assembly plant might help widen our perspective.
Thanks to CorvetteBlogger, we’ve come across a bunch of pictures showing two black Corvettes parked side by side, with one being the C8 and the other the C7. The images, shot by Sebastian Pietrzyk, show how different the two cars really are in terms of aesthetics, despite the fact they still share certain design traits.

At first, we thought that the front end lift system on the C8 Corvette was engaged prior to these pictures being taken, which may have explained why the C7 simply looks “lower and meaner” from a front 3/4 angle – but the tire-wheel well gap difference is negligible. At the same time, it could just be the proportions, where a longer hood will always trump a shorter one.
The C8 does however look more…substantial (arguably) when viewed directly from behind, while the profile shots benefit both models.
Exterior looks aside, it’s a fact that the new C8 Corvette boasts an improved interior, featuring a 12-inch digital instrument panel, flat bottom and top steering wheel, and better materials than its predecessor.
Power meanwhile now comes from a mid-mounted 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine, churning out 490 HP (497 PS) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque. The optional Z51 Performance Package will boost output to 495 HP (502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm).
But enough numbers. Let us know which of these two Vettes you think looks better and why.
