Los Angeles-based Czinger has provided us with new photos of their 1+1 mid-engine hypercar, including the first of the interior as well as the 21C Lightweight Track edition. Check them all out in the gallery below . [Updated 2/27/2020]

Ladies and gents, we may have a new 0-400-0 km/h (0-249-0 mph) record holder: the Czinger 21C.

The hybrid hypercar can do it in just 29 seconds, according to the official spec sheet, which would shatter Koenigsegg Regera’s record of 31.49 seconds, set last fall. Until the U.S. startup decides to walk the walk with further proof, let’s focus on other bonkers aspects of its impressive machine.

The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes 1.9 seconds and 0-300-0 km/h (0-186-0 mph) is dispatched in 15 seconds. It can also hit a claimed top speed of 432 km/h (268 mph) and produces 250+ kg (551 lbs) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph).

So what’s powering this monster, a nuclear reactor? Not really, the Czinger 21C packs a mid-mounted 2.88-liter flat-crank V8 assisted by two turbochargers and a couple of electric motors assigned to the front axle. The hypercar boasts a combined output of 1,250 PS (1,232 HP / 919 kW) and can be revved all the way up to 11,000 rpm. With a curb weight of 1,250 kg (2,756 lbs), it has a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio (when Euro horsepower is taken into account).

There’s a track-special version too

While the 21C is not even yet on the market, Czinger has already announced plans for a second version of the hypercar, dubbed the 21C Lightweight Track Configuration. With an identical power output, it will tip the scales at 1,218 kg (2,685 lbs), resulting in an improved a power-to-weight ratio of 1:03. The automaker also claims the lightweight model produces 790 kg (1,742 lbs) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph) and can max out at 380 km/h (236 mph).

Parts of it are 3D Printed

Another highlight of the 21C, the name of which stands for ‘21st Century’, is that it’s 3D printed – not entirely, but large chunks of the chassis, including the suspension wishbones, various parts of the front structure and dashboard, and even the exhaust tips.

Designed and built in Los Angeles, the 21C will celebrate its world debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Czinger will present it during the press conference scheduled for March 3, at 11:00 CET (5:00 a.m. EST). Meanwhile, you can further explore it in the new video and image gallery released and shared below.
