Fathouse’s Twin-Turbo Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Is No Joke With Up To 1400 HP

A tuning company by the name of Fathouse Performance in Indiana has created one of the most phenomenal Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 models on earth.

As standard, the 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated ‘Voodoo’ V8 engine of the Shelby GT350 delivers 526 hp. Not satisfied with that, the tuner slotted in a pair of turbochargers below the engine. The location of the turbos was chosen to improve response, heat management, and ease of access. Fathouse also went to the trouble of upgrading the valvetrain and having the cylinders sleeved.

The modified GT350 is good for 950 hp and 688 lb-ft (932 Nm) of torque at the wheels when running on E85 fuel, dropping to 806 hp and 677 lb-ft (917 Nm) on standard 93 octane. Complementing the 62 mm Xona Rotor dual ball bearing turbochargers to achieve these figures are stainless steel turbo headers, a new fuel system, and a valve-controlled exhaust system. Impressively, no changes have been made to the Ford’s cylinder heads, cams, bore, or crankshaft.

Big power results in brutal performance with Fathouse quoting a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 2.5 seconds, a quarter-mile sprint in 9.9 seconds at 142 mph (228 km/h), and a 185 mph (297 km/h) top speed.

Fathouse dubs its upgrade package the 1000R and things don’t stop there. Should customers want even more performance, 1200R and 1400R kits are also available with 1200 hp and 1400 hp on tap. The range-topping 1400R is reportedly good for 62 mph in just 1.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 8.2 seconds at 168 mph (270 km/h) and a 220 mph (354 km/h) top speed. Given the car is rear-wheel drive, however, we’re having a hard time believing 62 mph can be hit in less than 2 seconds with road-legal tires.
