Ford Australia has announced that the all-new Puma subcompact crossover will go on sale Down Under in the second half of 2020.
Joining the all-new 2020 Ford Escape, the Puma will become the fourth SUV available in the country. Ford also sells the Endura (a.k.a. Edge) mid-size soft-roader and Everest body-on-frame SUV in Australia.
“Puma will appeal to customers looking for a fun-to-drive, stylish SUV that’s loaded with smart tech,” said Kay Hart, President and CEO, Ford Australia and New Zealand. “The Puma is a great opportunity for us to connect with Australian customers in a new way, and we’re excited that it will arrive alongside the new-generation Escape in Australian showrooms in 2020,” the executive added.

Ford Australia did not reveal specification and pricing of the Puma for the local market but said those will be announced ahead of the model’s arrival in dealerships in the second half of the year. In Europe, the Ford Puma comes with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder petrol engine available in two states of tune: 125 PS (123 HP) and 155 PS (153 HP). Both versions of the turbocharged three-pot are available with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
Depending on the market, the crossover comes in Titanium, Titanium X, ST-Line, and ST-Line X trim levels. All models offer a maximum cargo volume of 456 liters (16.1 cu ft) including the MegaBox which eliminates the spare wheel.
The Puma is available with driving assist systems that include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Speed Sign Recognition and Lane Centering, as well as premium comfort features such as lumbar massage seats.
Built at Ford’s plant in Craiova, Romania alongside the EcoSport, the all-new Puma is priced from £20,845 in the UK and €23,150 in Germany in entry-level Titanium trim. Unfortunately for those of you reading this from the USA and Canada, there’s still no word from Ford regarding the availability of the new Puma in North America.
