The 2020 Chicago Auto Show will kick off at the end of this week and Lexus has announced a list of debuts. Well, actually, debuts may be a big word for the lineup, whose main attraction will be an LC 500 Convertible finished in a new paint seen for the first time in public.
Featuring a roof that can be opened or closed in around 15 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h), the open-top model packs a 5.0-liter V8, rated at 471 HP (478 PS / 351 kW) and 398 lb-ft (539 Nm) of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also features reinforcements in the chassis and a fine-tuned suspension.

Joining it on stage will be a custom LC 500 that is dedicated to Cal’s Angels, a pediatric foundation that supports children with cancer, and their families, and provides funding for research. The car, which gets gold ribbons, will continue the brand’s multi-year partnership with the foundation by raising money and in-kind donations via its Chicago office.
The 2020 RX and RXL will also be on display and will arrive in the Windy City for the first time, boasting updates such as added multimedia options and more responsive steering. The series also packs an 8-inch touchscreen display as standard that can be replaced with an optional 12.3-inch screen and the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 that is offered at no extra cost, with road sign assist, lane tracing assist, low-light pedestrian detection and daytime bicyclist detection.
In total, Lexus will have 18 vehicles under the spotlight at Chicago, including a performance area where visitors will find the RC F GT3 show car, RC F Track Edition and the entire RC family of cars.
