Previewed by the Concept EQA at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes-Benz EQA is getting ready to launch in the following months.
The automaker confirmed that it will premiere before the end of 2020, probably at the Paris Auto Show this fall, but before wrapping up the testing phase, Mercedes are currently making sure that the prototypes function accordingly, no matter the outside temperature.

For the latest round of testing, Mercedes took the EQA prototypes to Sweden. It is there that they paid attention to cold-climate charging and how the sub-freezing temperatures affect the thermal management of the battery and interior of the car. Other aspects inspected were the energy recovery on ice- and snow-covered roads, and traction.
The electric sibling of the new GLA, which will slot under the EQC, will be based on the MEA EVA II platform, alongside the EQB. It is understood that they will be offered with several battery capacities, ranging between 60 and 110 kWh, a minimum driving range of around 400 km (248 miles) and up to three electric motors, producing 201 HP (204 PS / 150 kW), 268 HP (272 PS / 200 kW) and 335 HP (340 PS / 250 kW).
Mercedes has also confirmed a lineup of plug-in hybrids that will launch under the EQ Power sub-brand at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, without stating what these are. In addition to the electrified models, the German carmaker will also pull the covers off the facelifted AMG E63, the new GLA 45, as well as the GT 73 PHEV.
