Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has commenced testing of the SCG 004 supercar, a couple of years after being first showcased through a series of renderings.
The SCG 004 featured in this video, filmed at the Cremona Circuit in San Martino del Lago, Italy, is the race-ready 004 C model. The niche automaker and racing team intends to compete with the 004 in the SPX class of the 24 Hours of Nurburgring this May.
It is understood that the race car, which features a central driving position, is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine developed by Autotecnica Motori and based around GM’s LT4 engine, the same one used in the C7 Corvette Z06 albeit in supercharged form. While it remains to be seen how much this engine produces in the SCG 004 C, it certainly sounds quite nice.

Two other variants of the SCG 004 will be built, consisting of a road-legal 004 S variant and a hardcore 004 CS model that’s track-focused but still able to carry license plates. The first of these will utilize GM’s LT4 engine, this time with the supercharger attached, and be good for 650 HP. It will be available with both a manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission options.
By comparison, the SCG 004 CS is set to be something particularly special as it will use a GM LT5-based V8 engine offering up no less than 900 HP.
Interestingly, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus had initially planned for the 004 to use the 3.8-liter twin-turbo VR36DETT V6 engine of the Nissan GT-R but those plans were scrapped.
