We all know that a new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is just around the corner and in this clip, we’re provided with a detailed look at what is claimed to be the new widebody design of the mid-engined sports car.
Recent spy shots of the new Corvette Z06 have revealed prototypes wearing thick camouflage and body cladding, hiding much of their designs. However, recent footage of two Z06 prototypes on a U.S. motorway picked up by Miracle Whips appear to show that the duo have flared rear wheel arches akin to those of the C7-generation Corvette Z06, allowing for the fitment of wider rear wheels and tires.
Interestingly, the two Corvette Z06 prototypes were spied testing alongside a Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

It is widely believed that the new Corvette Z06 will feature a version of the 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated flat-plane crank V8 of the new C8.R race car. In racing guise, this engine delivers 500 hp and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm) due to restrictions placed on its performance but with the constraints removed for the production engine, we could see closer to 600 horses on tap.
As for why the Z06 might have being tested alongside a Ferrari 458 Italia and GT2 RS, that remains a little unclear. Chevrolet has previously said it used the 458 extensively for benchmarking purposes when developing the current C8 Corvette Stingray but the new Z06 will easily surpass the 458 in all performance regards. By comparison, it seems unlikely the new Corvette Z06 will be able to compete with the GT2 RS if it does indeed feature a naturally-aspirated engine.
