We live in a world where some cars can be just as quick, or perhaps even quicker, than supercars, and that’s without messing around with the oily bits.
A prime example is the new generation Audi RS7 Sportback, which without any outside intervention can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds. Want something faster? How about 3.3 seconds, courtesy of ABT and their latest engine control unit, which lifts the output of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to 700 PS (690 HP / 515 kW) and 880 Nm (649 lb-ft) of peak torque.

That’s a 100 PS (99 HP / 74 kW) and 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) jump over the stock executive model. To put the performance into perspective, the 610 PS (601 HP / 449 kW) Lamborghini Huracan Coupe does the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and tops out at over 325 km/h (201 mph). ABT claims that their internal testing, both on the road and in the lab, shows that the engine can withstand the extra oomph, which comes with TUV certification in Germany.
For now, you will have to make do with the power boost when it comes to the new RS7, as other components, such as the range of alloy wheels, available in different sizes, patterns and finishes, are still in the making at the tuner. The same can be said about the RS6 Avant and RS Q8, which pack the same engine as the top-spec executive model and can be equipped with ABT’s software to savor an identical boost and mix it with blue-blooded cars (and SUVs).
