We all know that the Lancia Delta Integrale Evo is a heck of a performance machine but this particular Integrale is unlike any other. Modified extensively for hillclimb racing, it might very well be the craziest example on earth.
Much like the Delta Integrale you can buy (at a very steep price these days) for the road, this example features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine but thanks to a host of modifications, it is now said to churn out roughly 700 hp. Watching the car in action, we’ve got no doubt that it has every bit of 700 horses under its bulging hood.
As the hillclimber tackles the course, its turbocharger can be heard whistling away while the side-exiting exhaust pipes shoot flames at every opportunity. It sounds as though the heavily boosted engine is paired with some kind of sequential transmission to make for lightning-quick gear changes.

Then we come to the looks. The front fascia of the racer lacks headlights and any of the usual intakes and grilles you’d expect to find. Instead, there is simply a bunch of empty space and directly behind the bumper you can see a large radiator and an intercooler. Elsewhere, the car sports flared front and rear wheel fenders and features a towering rear wing to stick it to the pavement.
We’ve got no idea how much it cost to customize this Delta Integrale but it wouldn’t have been cheap. Here’s hoping it continues to tear up hillclimb events throughout Europe and doesn’t get damaged in the process.
