Tensions between the United States and Russia have been escalating recently, for the first time since the end of the Cold War, with incidents involving both parties surfacing in war-torn Syria these past few weeks.
One of these episodes was filmed in Qamishli, a city located in the northeastern part of the country, near the Turkish border, on Wednesday, according to a social media user who shared the footage online. You could call it a road-rage incident between the two armed forces.

Shot from inside a civilian car, the footage shows what seems to be a Russian GAZ Tigr, part of a three-vehicle convoy, trying to overtake an American military convoy. Shortly after passing the first combat truck, the Tigr is then intercepted by an U.S. Oshkosh M-ATV (?), which attempted to stop it from breaking the convoy. The M-ATV can be seen pushing the Tigr off the road and the two vehicles appear to collide at one point, as a pedestrian narrowly avoids being hit.
Fortunately, the incident seems to have had no subsequent repercussions or, better said, no shots were fired. Both countries are aware of the road-rage episode, though according to TheMoscowTimes, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on Thursday, in a conference call with the press. Task&Purpose quotes the spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command, Navy Captain William Urban, as admitting that they are aware of it and “are looking into it at this point”.
