Few tuners have more experience upgrading Porsche 911 models than BBI Autosport and the company’s latest project is one of its most impressive to date.
When the owner of a Porsche 911 GT2 RS decided to the car wasn’t quite quick enough, they called up BBI Autosport to set about upgrading the car and making it even more animalistic. That’s a brave thing to do because out of the box, the car’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine pumps out 690 hp and 553 lb-ft (749 Nm) of torque.

The first thing BBI did was to tune the car’s software to extract as much power as possible from the engine. It then had a German company by the eloquent name of TheTurboEngineers improve the internals of the turbochargers so they spool fast and produce more power. In addition, the car has been fitted with a new intake system and a 3D-printed titanium exhaust. There’s also an upgraded intercooler to ensure the upgraded powertrain keeps cool and is always running as efficiently as possible.
In this video, the tuner talks us through the modifications made to the car while also showing the car making a handful of passes down a runway. The fastest this particular GT2 RS has ever been is 227 mph (365 km/h), compared to the car’s factory top speed of 211 mph (339 km/h.) With a long enough ribbon of tarmac, BBI believes this 911 could hit roughly 245 mph (394 km/h), a remarkable feat for a car that from the outside looks like any other GT2 RS.
