It’s been a while since we last heard about the Opel Ampera-e.
Frankly, we didn’t think we’d have something new to report on the Chevy Bolt’s twin ever since GM sold Opel and Vauxhall to PSA Group in 2017. As it turns out, there are some brand new Opel Ampera-e EVs available in the Netherlands and the good news is the prices are now much lower than when the model launched.
Opel’s Dutch subsidiary has cut prices significantly to get rid of its Ampera-e stock, which means you can now have the Business trim level for €34,149 (approximately $37,760) – that’s a reduction of more than €10,000 ($11,060).

The Business Executive grade is also much cheaper now, carrying a starting price of €37,149 ($41,070). Previously, this model started at €48,449 ($53,560). Both prices include VAT.
The Opel Ampera-e is more attractive to lease as well, with deals starting from €459 ($507) a month for business users and €539 ($596) for individuals – on a 60-month, 10,000-km (6,214-mile) per year contract.
As a reminder, the Opel Ampera-e packs a 60 kWh battery enabling a driving range of 423 km (263 miles) as per WLTP. The battery powers an electric motor delivering 150 kW (204 PS / 201 HP) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque. That’s enough for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint of 7.3 seconds.
Opel’s Dutch subsidiary says the stock is limited, therefore potential customers should not wait too long to place an order. In case the stock sale will end too quickly, you should know Opel will launch four electrified models in 2020: the plug-in hybrid Grandland X Hybrid4, the fully electric Corsa-e, fully electric Vivaro-e and the electric variant of the next-generation Opel Mokka.
