ABT Sportsline wasted no time tuning the new generation Volkswagen Golf and made aftermarket parts available three months after sales of the new compact hatchback began in Germany.

Boasting a revised stance, the Golf Mk8 packs suspension springs that drop the body by 25-30 mm (1-1.2 in), depending on the spec and engine. In addition to making it look sportier, the new parts, which are also available for cars equipped with the adaptive chassis control (DCC), are said to improve handling.

Despite riding closer to the asphalt, the popular hatchback can still be fitted with large wheels. The tuner’s offering includes the ER-C series, 18 or 19 inches in size, wrapped in 225/40 and 225/35 tires, respectively.

If you want your ride to stand out more, then the diamond-machined FR-C wheels in mystic black could be the better choice. The set has 20 inches in diameter and is compatible with 235/30 tires. The diamond-machined Sport GR range, in matte black, is available in the same sizes.

For now, the new suspension springs and rims will have to suffice when it comes to tuning the latest Golf, but ABT says it is already working on an even more comprehensive makeover. Before summer begins, the tuner will expand the offering to include performance upgrades for certain petrol and diesel engines.

Though they have yet to announce it, it’s likely they will launch other upgrades for the exterior and interior of the car as well. In the meantime, you can check out the tuned VW Golf Mk8 in the image gallery below.
