Mazda will offer the MX-30 EV in a limited First Edition in the UK early next year, with prices starting from £30,495 ($39,340) – or £26,995 ($34,825) if you include the local subsidies.
The new Mazda MX-30, the brand’s first all-electric model, is now available to pre-order in the First Edition trim, which will be limited to just 500 examples for the UK market.
The new MX-30 is powered by an electric motor delivering 141 HP (143 PS) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque, while a 35.5 kWh battery pack enables a driving range of around 124 miles (200 km) on the WLTP cycle.

This puts the MX-30 in a tough spot among other electric SUVs of similar pricing and size but with longer driving ranges. However, Mazda says that the driving range of their first electric SUV is more than enough to satisfy European customers who drive an average of 31 miles (50 km) on a daily basis. With the use of a 50 kW rapid charger, the battery can regain an 80 percent charge in 30 to 40 minutes.
The cabin looks like a very nice place to sit and spend some time in, featuring a floating center console that’s independent of the dashboard and is finished with cork-lined trays. More environmentally-friendly materials like recycled plastic and leatherette are used for the door trims and the seats, respectively. A total of three displays is found inside, one for the instrument cluster, one for the infotainment and one for the HVAC controls.
The First Edition of the new Mazda MX-30 offers the choice between Ceramic Metallic or Polymetal Grey Metallic single colors for free, with customers also able to choose the £950 ($1,225) three-tone Ceramic Metallic or £1,250 ($1,610) three-tone Soul Red Crystal Metallic options.
Standard equipment of the Mazda MX-30 First Edition also includes a head-up display, an 8-way electric adjustable drivers’ seat, Radar Cruise Control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wall box home charger. Mazda will announce the pricing details for the rest of the MX-30 range later this year.
