The facelifted Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate was spied testing in a parking lot somewhere in Germany recently, trying to keep a low profile. Yet, the partially camo’d front end caught the attention of our spy photographers.
Flanked by the redesigned headlights, the Panamericana grille represents the biggest visual update of the range-topping models of the series. The bumper is also new and sports bigger air intakes, and further back, we can see the updated bumper that still houses the rectangular quad tailpipes.

The rear lights and roof spoiler do not seem to have been changed at all, but this is a prototype and not the final production version, so who knows, maybe the folks at AMG are playing things close to the chest. A chrome element still spans from taillight to taillight in the middle of the tailgate, where the three-pointed star badge will be joined by the ‘AMG’ and ‘E63’/’E63 S’ logos. The test car was equipped with a pair of V-spoke wheels and featured big brakes, with drilled discs.
Inside, the 2021 E63 Estate will bring the latest version of the MBUX system, while power should come from the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the outgoing iteration. The lump produces 571 PS (563 HP / 420 kW) in the regular E63 and 612 PS (603 HP / 450 kW) in the E63 S, with the latter needing only 3.5 seconds for the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint.
We don’t know if the performance numbers will change, but we should find out before the end of the year, when Mercedes-AMG is expected to put this car in showrooms.
