Spy photographers have caught the 2021 Nissan Rogue on multiple occasions, but it might have just been revealed by the Brazilian Ministry of the Economy.
In filings noticed by Motor1, Nissan submitted a design for a new crossover that appears to be the Rogue.
As you can see, the model has a sleeker front fascia with a more prominent V-Motion grille. The crossover also sports vertical air intakes and a wide lower opening.

While these images don’t show specific details, spy photos have shown the 2021 Rogue will have top-mounted turn signals and LED daytime running lights. The headlights are mounted lower, above the intakes.
Moving further back, we can see can see edgier bodywork, an upward sloping beltline and pronounced rear haunches. The model also adopts a sleeker roof and a familiar D-pillar treatment.
Out back, there’s an evolutionary rear end with new taillights and a redesigned spoiler. The tailgate also eschews a license plate recess for a smoother look.
More significant changes will occur in the cabin as spy photos have shown an upgraded interior with higher quality materials and modern technology. Drivers will sit behind a flat-bottomed steering wheel and find themselves looking a new digital instrument cluster.
Elsewhere, there will be a freestanding infotainment system with a larger display. Drivers can also expect higher quality switchgear, a minimalist shifter and a more upscale design. There will also be a dedicated terrain dial which provides easy access to at least five different modes such as snow, off-road and street driving.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but the 2020 Rogue has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 170 hp (127 kW / 172 PS) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque. It’s possible the 2021 model could adopt the 2.5-liter four-cylinder that resides in the Altima where it produces up to 188 hp (140 kW / 191 PS) and 180 lb-ft (244 Nm) of torque.
The 2021 Rogue is expected to be introduced later this year, but there’s no word on timing as the coronavirus has thrown the traditional auto show schedule into chaos.
