It’s not often that the convertible version of a supercar becomes the more sensible-looking option, yet that’s always been the case with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster.
Unlike the SLS AMG Coupe, the Roadster came with conventional doors so as to accommodate the three-layered fabric soft top. Go for the right color, and this car becomes completely unobtrusive from a visual standpoint, which some people really appreciate.
Now, if your pockets are deep enough, you’ll definitely want to check out this 2012 variant, which according to its Bring a Trailer ad, has only done 6,548 miles (10,500 km), meaning that its 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine hasn’t even stretched its wings properly.

The exterior is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic, and comes with bi-xenon headlights, an automatically-deployed rear spoiler, parking sensors, 19/20-inch wheels front and rear, plus the previously-mentioned black roof. The only issue signaled out by the seller is a chip in the center of the hood.
Inside, there is black Exclusive leather that matches the dashboard and carpets, while the center console and door panels feature gloss carbon fiber trim. Goodies include the leather and Alcantara-wrapped AMG Performance steering wheel, heated and power-adjustable seats with Airscarf neckwarmers, automatic climate control and the COMAND infotainment system with sat-nav and a reversing camera function.
As for what this car can do once you floor the throttle, well, we’re dealing with 563 HP (571 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, all going to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle with paddle shifters. When new, the SLS Roadster could hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds, before maxing out at 197 mph (317 km/h).
