Shortly after the all-electric BMW Concept i4 was unveiled, the German marque released the official promotional film for the car.
Like so many other films for new and innovative cars, the clip is very cinematic and complete with narration with seemingly very little relation to the Concept i4. What makes the video of particular interest to us is the fact that a BMW E30-generation 3-Series is featured prominently throughout much of the film.
In fact, it’s not actually the Concept i4 that’s the first vehicle featured in the film and instead, it is the E30 3-Series, one of the marque’s most iconic models. Evidently, BMW believes the i4 will be an extremely important vehicle for its future, perhaps just as important in its history as the E30 3-Series.

While the BMW Concept i4 is just that, a concept, it does preview a production model that will hit the production line in 2021. Driving the i4 presented is an 80 kWh battery pack and an electric motor with a cool 530 hp. BMW quotes an official range of 372 miles (500 km) on a single charge across the WLTP cycle.
The exterior of the concept is painted in the same shade of Frozen Light Copper as the BMW Vision iNext concept and includes a number of blue accents, much like other BMW i models. There are also large front kidney grilles like the Concept 4 from 2019 as well as a set of aerodynamic wheels.
