U.S. startup Czinger took the wraps off its 21C hypercar at an event in London yesterday, shortly after the car was due to make a public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show.
Speaking at the event was company chief executive and founder Kevin Czinger and two 21C models were displayed, one painted blue and the other finished in weight. The blue car featured is the Lightweight Track model and includes a pronounced front splitter, side skirts, and a large rear wing while the white car is the ‘base’ configuration.

Czinger intends on building 80 examples of the 21C at its facility in Los Angeles. Each and every vehicle uses a 2.88-liter, flat-plane crank V8 engine with two turbochargers and revving through to a dizzying 11,000 rpm. Supplementing this engine are two axial flux electric motors powering the front wheels. All up, the 21C churns out 1,233 hp. The company says it’ll accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 1.9 seconds, run down the quarter-mile in a breathtaking 8.1 seconds, reach 186 mph (300 km/h) in 15 seconds and power through to 248 mph and back to zero (0-400-0 km/h) in a mere 29 seconds.
Mated to the engine is a seven-speed automatic sequential transmission. Two gearbox configurations will be offered. The first will be a full race dog gearbox optimized for track use while the second is more road-biased with a synchromesh configuration. As equally as impressive as the claimed horsepower figure is the fact that the 21C weighs less than 2,645 lbs (1,200 kg).
Prices for the Czinger 21C start at a cool $1.7 million.
