Gemballa GmbH’s plans for the immediate future includes new models like the Avalanche 4×4, an off-road 911-based sports car.
The German tuner added that the designs for the Avalanche 4×4 have been sitting in a drawer “for a long time”, which might have something to do with their recent legal battle against Marc Philipp Gemballa. A rugged variant of the Cayenne, called the Tornado 4×4, is also planned.
The new Gemballa Avalanche 4×4 will join the rest of the new crossover-style 911 models gang, which includes the new RUF Rodeo, Marc Phillip Gemballa’s promised 959-inspired supercar and other 911 Safari builds.
“The focus remains on expanding our already high quality standards. We will be introducing numerous new models over the next 24 months and expanding our dealer network worldwide,” said Steffen Korbach, owner and CEO of Gemballa.
Moving forward, the company will divide its business in three divisions: the Hypercar Division, which will be solely focused on the creation of the unnamed Gemballa hypercar, the Luxury Customization division, which groups together the rest of the company’s business and the Classics Division, which will be responsible for maintaining and restoring classic Gemballa models.
In addition, Gemballa will launch the Avalanche 4.2 RS this year as a limited production model. The Avalanche 4.2 RS was presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as a 991-based model, but the company now says that it will be based on both the 991 and the current 992.
Another new model coming from Gemballa this year will be an updated version of the GTR Evo-R Biturbo model, which currently offers 818 HP and a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 2.3 seconds. Gemballa is also preparing a variant with over 1,000 HP for launch this summer.
