Studies have shown that the average steering wheel is four times dirtier than a public toilet seat, while the average pump handle is even worse, at close to 12,000 times dirtier. If that’s not enough to gross you out, I don’t know what will.
Pretty much every touch point inside your car requires attention; apart from the steering wheel, the most disgusting areas can be the gear lever, the inside door handles, the cupholders, seat belts, and the HVAC/audio controls.
The first step to a safer interior is to clean it using the traditional car-related products for each type of surface and then proceed with the disinfection. You’ll need to be careful when disinfecting the cabin with these products to avoid any damage; avoid applying them on a hot interior and definitely test them on a small area to ensure there’s no discoloration or stains caused before moving on to a bigger surface.
