Tracy is an electric all-terrain six seater concept vehicle, designed as a thesis project for both public and private use. The minds at work belong to students of IED Turin’s Master in Transportation Design.
According to its designers, Tracy is meant to combine the concepts of micro mobility and private, public and shared mobility, for the good of the environment.
“Leveraging a culture of experimentation and innovation, this year we have focused on free research to overcome the constraints of the market with the intention of identifying new targets, anticipating courageous solutions for new intelligent transportation systems of the future,” said IED Turin director, Paola Zini.
“With Tracy we have expanded the field of study, with a design that has gone beyond the vehicle and that, as the name suggests, seeks to chart a new direction in a scenario of shared mobility.”

Measuring 3,740 mm (147.2 inches) in length, 2,205 mm (86.8 inches) in width, 2,083 mm (82 inches) in height and with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm (113.7 inches), Tracy is described as both solid and compact. For comparison, the latest Ford Fiesta is 4,040 mm (159 in.) long, 1,734 mm (68.3 in.)wide with a 2,483 mm (98.1 in.) wheelbase. It features four-wheel drive, powered by a double battery pack with full electric propulsion.
Aside from its asymmetric exterior, Tracy also comes with two functional areas inside. The first is dedicated to the driver, who gets a central position, while the second is reserved for the five passengers, in a lounge couch configuration.
There are two different access points inside. On the left side is the driver’s entrance (only one door), whereas passengers can embark on the right side.
Tracy also comes with a mobile app that you can use to program the vehicle based on needs, commitments or interests. The app then allows for functional or recreational travel, be it immediate or long distance.
