The M235i xDrive is the fastest available version of BMW‘s “baby Gran Coupe” range, and in the United States, you can grab one from $45,500.
This one however, delivered to BMW’s Abu Dhabi dealership, is clearly wearing quite a few optional extras, even though we suspect that it’s not exactly fully spec’d, since we can’t see the additional speakers for the surround sound version of the Harman Kardon audio system.
Regardless, you’re looking at a Melbourne Red finish for the exterior, which is a $550 option in the U.S. The car also seems to be equipped with the $300 Extended Shadowline Trim, which goes together really well with the black 18-inch V-Spoke wheels.

The interior meanwhile is drenched in Magma Red leather, but that’s not what really stands out here. The front seats are of the M Sport variety, and would set you back a further $750 if you wanted to install them on your brand new 2020 BMW M235i Gran Coupe.
They certainly get the job done, if you ask us. This car’s interior looks properly sporty, in terms of both color combos and overall design – not to mention modern, which is something BMW has been pretty good at in recent years.
In terms of performance, let’s just say that 10 years ago, the numbers being put down by the M235i xDrive would have been considered supercar-worthy. As for today’s standards, it’s more than fast enough.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder unit, which with the help of the carmaker’s xDrive all-wheel drive system will get you going really quick. Output is rated at 301 HP (306 PS) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm), and 0-60 mph (96 km/h) happens in just 4.7 seconds – or 4.6 if you go for the optional M Performance Package.
Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h).
