JAC Jiayue X7 Looks Like Quite A Stylish Compact SUV

Chinese car manufacturer JAC has released the first images of its new model, dubbed the Jiayue X7.

The compact SUV will hit the local market in the second quarter of the year and adopts an eye-catching design, both inside and out. The face of the JAC Jiayue X7 is dominated by a massive grille with vertical slats and a pair of thin LED DRLs for extra style points. The actual headlights are hidden inside the front bumper’s air intakes.

The sides are relatively simple in design while the rear somewhat reminds us of the current Kia Sportage with two large taillights connected by a light bar. Also visible at the rear are a set of quad tailpipes and an aggressive spoiler stretching off from the roof.

Local media outlet Xincheping reports that the SUV measures 4,776 mm (188-inch) long, 1,900 mm (74.8-inch) wide, 1,760 mm (69.2-inch) tall, and comes complete with a 2,750 mm (108.2-inch) long wheelbase.

The interior looks like a very pleasant place indeed. Directly behind the steering wheel looks to be an all-digital gauge cluster while there is also a large, widescreen infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. There also looks to be a wireless phone charging pad and an interesting gear lever sitting alongside a storage cubby with a retractable cover. A panoramic sunroof is also pictured.

It is reported that the JAC Jiayue X7 will be powered exclusively by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Power and torque figures will reportedly sit at 174 horses and 185 lb-ft (251 Nm).
