Two of the fastest SUVs of the moment, the Lamborghini Urus and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, met at the drag strip to settle their differences in a 1,000m (0.62-mile) acceleration test.
We will get to the ‘which one was quicker’ part in a few moments, but first, we have to remind ourselves that in the power department, the balance tilts in favor of the Jeep.

The Hellcat-powered model uses a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that pumps out 707 HP (716 PS / 527 kW) and 645 lb-ft (875 Nm) of torque. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration is dispatched in 3.7 seconds, top speed stands at 180 mph (290 km/h) and it can run the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph (187 km/h).
In the opposite corner, the Urus is less powerful but a tad quicker on paper. It packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 641 HP (650 PS / 478 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm), and rockets it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and up to 190 mph (305 km/h).
In theory, both models can smoke a lot of performance cars in a straight-line acceleration, but which one is actually faster on an open stretch of road? Does the Trackhawk have what it takes to beat the big bad Urus, or is the Lambo far more superior?
