We could go on making references to hounds, coffins, sharks or the big bad wolf the entire day, but we’d better get used to the looks of the all-new BMW M3 and M4, as it is, apparently, very much real.

This image that surfaced on BimmerPost gives us one more look at the face of the 2021 M4 Coupe or the M3 Sedan (we’re not sure, though it’s believed they will once again share the same front), and falls in line with a previous leak that dates back to last fall.

If you can get past the extremely huge kidney grille, you will also see the aggressive lines of the bumper, big lower air intakes, slim headlights and hood with power domes.

Equally bold, the back end sports wide fenders, bulky bumper and diffuser with a four-fin design, cutouts for the quad-exhaust pipes and chrome trim that separates it from the bumper. The boot lid has a thin spoiler and the taillights have been blacked out – at least on this red M3.

Expected to be unveiled this summer, the new generation M4 Coupe, as well as the M4 Cabrio and M3 Sedan, will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six, shared with the X3 M and X4 M. Power levels should be the same, with the engine producing 480 PS (473 HP / 353 kW) and 510 PS (503 HP / 375 kW) in the Competition models.

The M3 and M4s will follow hot on the heels of the larger M5 by getting an xDrive all-wheel drive system, capable of channeling up to 100 percent of the torque to the rear wheels. Fret not, as a pure rear-wheel drive variant is said to be in the works, hooked up to a manual gearbox – you know, so that nobody can say that BMW M has ‘ruined’ it.
