Every year around the time of the Geneva Motor Show, aftermarket tuner Mansory releases a number of wild and wacky creations.

It’s done the same this year and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class you’re looking at is one of its most intriguing projects.  Designed and built with the help of Philipp Plein, the vehicle is dubbed the Star Trooper Pickup and is based on a Mercedes-AMG G63 that’s undergone a series of comprehensive modifications.

We haven’t been able to find all that many details online about the vehicle, but the first thing that strikes you is the fact it’s a two-door G-Class with a short wheelbase.

While previous iterations of the G-Class have been available with two-doors, the current model is sold exclusively as a four-door. This leads us to believe Mansory’s creation is either based on an older G-Class two-door or a new one that’s had two of its doors removed and the wheelbase shortened.

Either way, you’ll notice that the rear section of the passenger cell has been cut and converted into a small pickup bed. Adorning the exterior of the vehicle is a matte black and grey camouflage design. The vehicle also sits on a set of custom black wheels, has new side-exiting exhausts, power-retractable side steps and overhauled front and rear facias.

Power is provided by a modified 4.0-liter twin-turbo AMG V8 that now delivers 838 HP (850 PS) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Mansory claims its Star Trooper Pickup can accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.5 seconds. Sounds intimidating? Don’t worry about meeting one in real life because only seven examples will be built worldwide.
